Recipe Ingredients

½ cup room temperature water
1 can Original RO*TEL(or kick it up a notch—use Hot RO*TEL!)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
½ cup golden raisins
1 box white bread (machine) mix
3 tsp. sugar
1 Tbs. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
Yeast packet
*for Hot RO*TEL, increase raisins to 1 cup, and sugar to 4 ½ Tbs.

Directions

Place ingredients in bread machine in order listed above. When done, remove bread cylinder from machine. Let cool 15 minutes. Remove loaf and let stand 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with breakfast, lunch, or dinner. (So good, butter’s optional!). *Easily converts to oven-baked loaf by following box mix directions.
For the adventurous, the possibilities are endless!
* Grilled Cheese Sandwiches: Spray griddle or large skillet with nonstick spray. Preheat stove to medium heat. Cut leftover loaf into thick (1/3 inch) slices. Place two pieces of Colby (or your favorite) cheese between slices. Grill sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes until cheese is melted, turning once to brown both sides. [Man meal: add 4 pieces cooked bacon before grilling. Served with tostados and traditional RO*TEL cheese dip.]
* Slice, toast and spread with cream cheese or berry jelly for breakfast.
* Toast, add poached egg, ham or Canadian bacon, top with hollandaise sauce. Also makes delicious french toast!
* For appetizers: top quartered slices with choice of meat (pepperoni, cooked hamburger, steak bites, cooked chicken, seafood, etc.), add 1 tsp. Hot RO*TEL. Top with cheese and broil until bubbly.
