1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls½ cup (or 2 links) ground Mild Italian sausage, casings removed (divided)
¼ cup strained RO*TEL Original Diced Tomatoes & Green chilies, diced (divided)
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 Tbs. shredded cheddar cheese
3 Tbs. light brown sugar
½ tsp. paprika
2 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil (divided)
Directions
Heat oven to 375°F.In saucepan on medium-high heat, add 1 Tbs. oil and crumble sausage into pan. Cook sausage until no longer pink. Remove and drain sausage onto paper towel-lined plate.
In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, cheddar cheese, brown sugar and paprika until well blended. Set aside.
Unroll dough and separate into 2 long rectangles. Place 1 rectangle on long cutting board; press perforations to seal. Carefully, spread half of cheese mixture on dough to within 1/2 inch of edges. Sprinkle half of RO*TEL Original Diced Tomatoes & Green chilies evenly on dough rectangle. Spread half of Sausage mixture on top.
Starting with one long side, roll up rectangle; press seam to seal. Cut roll into 16 slices; place slices cut side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining dough rectangle. Brush remaining olive oil over tops of slices. Bake 14 to 16 minutes or until light golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.
Yields: 25-30 appetizers
